Having sex with the worst person she knows just a week after she turns away the guy she really cares about is murder on Hannah's fragile self-esteem. Now imagine how this guilt is magnified when Hannah has sex with the rapist-consensual or not. Hannah's guilt over her failure to stop the alleged rape is, we think, a big factor in her ultimate decision to take her own life. Bryce, as Clay figures out, is the mystery man who Hannah claims raped the unconscious Jessica. This brings us to one of the most troubling issues in the novel. Bryce is at fault here, of course, but Hannah isn't stable enough to place that blame where it belongs. All we can say is that it sure is some self-destructive behavior. During his career, he has advised clients on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures. ![]() Hannah's motivations here are anything but clear, to her or to most readers. We should be clear here that while the way Hannah describes this situation is a little confusing, it most definitely qualifies as rape. (14.134) She tells him, " I was just using you, so I could let go of me completely" (14.153). All I did was turn my head, clench my teeth, and fight back tears. She says, " For everyone listening, let me be clear. This is a really confusing part of the story. In the hot tub, Bryce has sex with Hannah without her consent. In Bryce's tape, Hannah describes how she joined him in Courtney Crimson's hot tub after a party that Hannah didn't even go to. The question of how Bryce (Justin Prentice) died is the central mystery for the third season of 13 Reasons Why, which picks up eight months after the. He's the eleventh person on Hannah's list, but he shows up a lot throughout the tapes (almost always being a bully – or worse – toward girls). Well, we finally know who killed Bryce Walker. Jay Asher does a phenomenal job of making this dude seem like total pond scum. Words can't even describe how awful, despicable, and lowly this guy is. ![]()
